Pale Secret Grotto is a large, underwater Secret Grotto accessed by a trapdoor located southeast of Bronze Water Cave. It consists of a sunken, sideways Dwemer ruin that breaks into a large, underwater cave. It contains the Mirror Shield of the Great Sea and leads to Ganon's Tomb.

At the end of the intial room awaits three slaughterfish that guard the Mirror Shield of the Great Sea. A hole in the wall leads to a large, open cavern. On the opposite side of the cave lies the entrance to Ganon's Tomb, which requires the Hero's Key to open.

Background and Inspiration Edit

The Pale Secret Grotto was implemented in version 5.2 of Relics of Hyrule and was expanded in version 6.2. Its entrance was placed in the same location that the Mirror Shield of the Great Sea used to sit in Lake Yorgrim.

JKalenad designed the grotto to be a completely submerged, sideways Dwemer ruin to experiment with such a dungeon before working on Itnamzand.

The grotto was chosen to lead to Ganon's Tomb because of its seclusion. Ganon's Tomb was originally meant to be found connected to The Ruptured Towers - Loss, but JKalenad wanted Ganon to have a presence in the physical realm with his Tomb. The Dwemer architecture of the grotto also allows for background regarding the tomb's discovery.
