The Noble Sword is a type of one-handed sword, originally found in a weaker state. It may be gradually awakened or turned into the Tempered Sword.

Characteristics[]

By default, the Noble Sword is equal in strength to a Glass Sword and weighs slightly less. The "dozing" awakened version is equal in strength to an Ebony Sword, and the "true" version is equal to a Daedric Sword.

The default and dozing Noble Sword have a standard swing speed for a sword. The true sword has a slightly increased swing speed.

The Sword deals slightly less critical damage (x1.42 base damage), while the dozing sword deals increased critical damage (x1.77 base damage) and the true sword deals slightly less (x1.71 base damage). All versions have the standard critical multiplier of x1.0.

All Noble Sword variants may be tempered with a Quicksilver Ingot.

Two versions of the true Noble Sword exist with different colorations and enchantments. The blue version is also known as the Noble Sword of the Sea, while the red version is also known as the Noble Sword of Ages.

Effects[]

While the Noble Sword initially has no enchantment, the dozing and true upgrades possess powerful enchantments. The dozing version has an infinite enchantment charge, while the true version has a charge of 1000.

The dozing sword deals 10 points of Frost Damage followed by 4 points of Fire Damage for 3 seconds.

The true sword has differing enchantments depending on the variant crafted. The blue sword deals 15 points of Frost Damage followed by 5 points of Shock Damage for 3 seconds. It also Ravages 15 points of Magicka for 30 seconds.

The red sword deals 15 points of Fire Damage and Ravages 15 points of Stamina for 30 seconds. It has a 34% chance to Paralyze non-immune targets for 5 seconds.

All variants count as Silver weapons and deal 20 extra damage to undead, ghosts, and werewolves. The true swords also react with the White Ring and Ivory Ring, releasing sword beams while the wielder is at full health.

Location[]

Five guaranteed Noble Swords can be obtained.

One is located within Itnamzand. It can be found in a central pedestal in Itnamzand Sanctum, which may be accessed after completing the dungeon.

Another is located within The Shattered Lands. It can be found stuck into a tree stump on a western island with two giant mushrooms. A third can be found slightly north in a chest on a downward-inclined crystal. A fourth is in a chest on an isolated crystal cluster northeast of the Fierce Deity's Armor.

A fifth Noble Sword is located within Mad God Passage. It can be found in a chest in the Cane of Byrna maze room.

Additional Noble Swords have a chance to be within a Dark Chest of Wonders.

Crafting[]

The default Noble Sword can be awakened into the dozing sword instead of the Tempered Sword. This can be done at a Terminan Forge or Ancient Enchanter.

Lore[]

Several Noble Swords were brought into Hyrule during the Last Great War of Hyrule. They were studied and plans were devised for reforging them into more varied and potent weapons. After the war, they eventually became dormant.

Background and Inspiration[]

The Noble Swords were added in version 5.0 of Relics of Hyrule. The original mesh was based on work by Chief-01 and modified by DMagnus. In version 6.6.1.B, the meshes were further modified by Dralkkin to be slimmer. Their textures were also adjusted to be less saturated.

The models were based on the Master Sword's stages of power from The Wind Waker. The Noble Sword of Ages uses the same mesh as the Noble Sword of the Sea, but is colored red. The name of the Noble Sword comes from the Noble Sword from Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons (also known as the L-2 sword).
